General Membership Meeting
April 23 1:00-3:00
Pittsburgh Center for the Arts
PSA is honored to have Brett Yasko as our speaker. Also meet our newest members and see their great art.
Brett will present a selection of work and also talk about John Riegert, an exhibition in which he asked 252 Pittsburgh artists to each create a portrait of a single person. You won’t want to miss it. Brett works with artists, curators, writers and educators to help create meaningful and memorable experiences through graphic design. His clients include the Carnegie Museum of Art, Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA), Wood Street Galleries, Lehmann Maupin Gallery, Conflict Kitchen, DelMonico Books/Prestel Publishing, Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, Princeton Architectural Press and Carnegie Mellon University's School of Art. www.brettyasko.com
The P I T T S B U R G H Society of Artists was founded in May 1965. With more than 400 members, whose work represents all visual-arts media, the P I T T S B U R G H Society of Artists is the largest guild of the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts. In 2015 PSA marked its 50th year dedicated to providing its members with opportunities to exhibit their art, both in the Pittsburgh area and beyond southwestern Pennsylvania.
In addition to providing exhibition opportunities, the Society since its inception has been dedicated to encouraging creative thinking about the arts through public dialogue. At our general membership meetings, held twice a year, the guild engages speakers to explore some aspect of the arts. The general public has always been invited to these stimulating programs.
Any individual eighteen years old or older who lives within 150 miles of Pittsburgh may apply for membership by submitting three original pieces of art to a screening by the Board of Directors. Screenings are held in the spring and fall of each year.
