We created a permanent art installation for the Holocaust Center using the butterflies which were painted by community members.

Sunday, September 17 - The Butterfly Project Exhibition opens at the Holocaust Center of Pittsburgh, ushering in our annual theme of Children in the Holocaust. The exhibit includes two original art installations and 800 butterflies painted across the region over the past year, each remembering one child lost in the Holocaust.

The Butterfly Project was inspired by art created by children in the Theresienstadt Ghetto. Our event will feature guest speaker Hana Kovanic, a survivor of Theresienstadt.

Doors open at 5:00; Program begins at 5:30.

Lisa Bergant Koi's painting, Departure(hot orange), was one of 34 selected out of 465 artworks submitted to the St. Tammany Art Association's "52nd Annual National Juried Artists' Exhibition: The Summer Show" in Covington, Lousiana.

Juror William Fagaly, the Curator Emeritus for the New Orleans Museum of Art and the museum's former Francoise Billion Richardson Curator of African Art (retired), stated, "From my conscientious and careful deliberations, the resulting show is a grouping of works I found most compelling, the most accomplished, the most original and the best crafted.  I hope the exhibition gives its viewers as much pleasure as it has me."  She is honored to be included in this group.
